Celebrate summer! Fun in the sun in Logan

Our guide to fab and cheap (or even better – free!) local family entertainment

Keeping the family entertained over the summer holidays can be exhausting – and expensive! If you’ve got kids, you’ll be familiar with the stress of constant requests for outings and treats throughout the holidays, and know how much of a drain this can be on your cash. Even if you don’t have a young family, you’ll know that the warm summer weather usually means getting out and socialising with friends and family, which can often be expensive. And if you’re unemployed, a student or struggling to get by on benefits or a low income, coming up with ways to get out and about and stay entertained without blowing all of your cash can be a battle.

Here’s our top tips for some fun and budget friendly ways to get out and celebrate summer in the Logan area, without needing to spend much of your precious cash!

Splash in and cool off

  • For those of us who aren’t lucky enough to have a backyard pool (or who are just looking for a change of scene!), the Logan area boasts loads of fabulous aquatic centres.
  • While you’ll need to pay for entry, grabbing a family pass will save you some cash, as will packing your own snacks and drinks. So splash in for the day and let the kids go wild and wear themselves out!

Hit the markets

You don’t need a pocketful of cash to enjoy the fun, vibrant atmosphere of the local markets. They’re a great way to get out and about in the sunshine, and soak up the talents and wares of those in our local community. Check out the Logan Central Markets, the Woodridge Train Station market or the Beenleigh Craft and Farmers market – all are on every Sunday from 6am till noon.
